Boats

Boats

Silently waiting

almost but not quite

floating. Water cold

with fall rests

darkly under grey skies.

Red and orange leaves

punctuate the remaining green

in the trees. If I were

an adventurer I would sail

until I met the horizon.

Mellowed by time

no longer do I seek

thrills of exploration.

Soon death will bring

the ultimate adventure

and that is enough.
